SMD Polymer PTC Thermistor –SPP Series

Overview

At normal working conditions, PPTC is a low-resistance. However, as a fault event occurs, such as over-current or an increase in the ambient temperature, PPTC will protect the circuit by changing from a low-resistance to a high resistance state in response to an overcurrent. After the fault being eliminated, PPTC can return to the low resistance state.

Background

With the requirement of electronic product development, the function of the IC is stronger, its value is becoming higher. So it is important to strengthen the protection of the IC. In the case of short circuit or accident connection interruption, PPTC is essential to ensure that it won’t lead to permanent damage and the huge cost of damage in circuit.
